The Grenada Financial Regulatory Commission (GFRC) primarily operates to maintain an effective and efficient Registry, alongside regulating and supervising the non-deposit taking Financial Regulatory industry in Grenada. This includes the promotion of the industry internationally and safeguarding its reputation against malpractice by any business entities.

The Commission's duties, as contained in Section 7 of the Grenada Financial Regulatory Commission Act No 35 of 1993 are:
- Supervising financial business to protect the public against losses from dishonesty, incompetence, or malpractice by financial businesses operating in or from within Grenada.
- Enhancing and protecting Grenada's reputation as a financial business center and promoting its development in this field.
- Managing the general administration and collection of fees.
- Representing Grenada internationally in matters of financial business supervision and regulation.
- Providing advice and recommendations to the Government on regulation and legislation related to financial business.
- Assisting and advising the Government on matters related to Acts or Regulations relevant to financial business.
